Whiteley Brooks Engineering has invested in information technology, especially in the area of CAD/CAM. Our principal software package is EdgeCAM which is able to accept parasolid models. Solid Works, a solid modelling package, is also used along with AlphaCAM, a three dimensional CAM system for preparing part programs for CNC machine tools.

It is therefore possible for drawings and models of parts to be supplied as CAD files via e-mail or computer disc as well as by traditional methods. Once validated files can be automatically downloaded onto CNC machining centres allowing us to offer the fastest of turnaround times.

Whiteley Brooks Engineering currently uses Progress Plus manufacturing software for production control, producing all of our documentation and providing a history for full traceability.

All of our CNC machine tools are linked via our DNC 500 link to our server. This means that Part Programs can be both uploaded and downloaded from the machine tool.
